About Body Basics Fitness

1) Sports Injury Therapy

After completing my Sports Therapy qualifications I have adapted the way in which I teach health and fitness. Many people assume that by joining a gym you have to give 100% effort on every piece of equipment to gain any benefit from it – NOT TRUE. By combining their cardio fitness, flexibility, postural awareness, core function and motivation levels can all help to improve a healthier lifestyle.

2) Personal Training

If potential members ask what’s the best way to get fit and stay fit I would always recommend Personal Training sessions. You don’t need to train every week, but a regular top up on your current fitness levels can pay dividends if you want to achieve any goals. You can train with a friend to make it cheaper and after a while the trainer and client can build a good rapport and encourage a good training experience.

3) Swimming Lessons

As our new facility offers a medium sized swimming pool I now provide One to One and group swimming tuition. Our Swim School is an additional service at Body Basics so if you want to improve your swimming style or maybe frightened of the water then come along for a few lessons and learn to enjoy the freedom of swimming. Our class sizes are small in order to give enough attention to each swimmer.

4) Extra Curricular Activities

Here at Body Basics we#re more than just a gym ! In Summer 2011 we started our ‘SUMMER OF SPORT’. This was a simple idea to provide a different sporting challenge every Wednesday night throughout summer. We tried a variety of sports including rock climbing, archery, trampolining and tag rugby. As it was successful we will be offering another opportunity in 2012.

We also organise an annual school fitness challenge called RYEDALE SUPERSCHOOLS. This was started in 2008, and the aim was to encourage children into a more active, all round spots challenge, as an addition to regular team school sports. We hold 5 sessions within school to discover hidden talent in a variety of challenges based on speed, strength, power or accuracy. A finals night is then organised to pitch the schools together for a fun, competitive challenge.
